Why the Leftist Mind is so Dangerous

"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways."                                                                                                                                 Sigmund Freud

A rational mind can find the behavior of anti-Trumpers as quite mysterious. What psychological mechanism can explain what many call "Trump Derangement Syndrome?" What can possess a person to have an obsession with Trump to the point that their every thought centers on how much hatred they have for him, and by projection, all his supporters?  Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory could shed some light.

Freud noted that many behaviors are rooted in unresolved conflicts from childhood. Let's say a child has either an abusive, absent or passive father.  The child needs security, a figure they can trust, a person to introject positive values (for boys) or one who can provide a sense of protection (for girls).  While nobody has a perfect father, most people have relatively positive feelings for their father, as most do a relatively good job at raising well-adjusted children.

So let's say a person feels a sense of betrayal for those ideals.  And let's further say they feel either intense guilt for the resentment towards their father, or if they never really knew their father, so a sense of real or virtual abandonment. They can transfer their biological father onto a public figure, a sort of para-social relationship.  In comes Trump.  He manifests an image of the archetypical father. He is powerful, strong-minded, often speaks in an abrasive tone and represents not an attack on the so-called patriarchy, but a wish to return to those ideals of a strong man who is there for his children.

A liberal mind, nurtured in a modern social construct of how men are the enemy anyway, still seeks that primal image of a caring father and positive role model.  Wait, isn't that contradictory? Shouldn't these people then be attracted to Trump? They are, on a sub-conscious level. Remember, hate is the flip side of love, two heads on the same coin.  This creates an intense neurological imbalance, an extreme form of cognitive dissonance.  The only way to deal with this is to lash out at Trump and his supporters, who they see as enablers.  This is not a political phenomena, but rather a psychosis rooted in an an obsession bordering on the erotic, and one in which Trump can do no good. He is evil, a sort of movie villian who, ironically, is often charismatic and attractive. The villian seduces with their charm and power, and thus the more Trump is successful, the more intense the person suffering from TDS has to repress their sub-conscious attraction to him.  This explains why they are consumed with a hatred that one rarely sees in a political context.  The more he succeeds, the more the liberal mind can't rationally make sense of it. Their sub-conscious becomes more filled with anger and confusion. Their conflicting emotions of hate, attraction, resentment and longing become an ever-consuming whirlpool of anxiety and anguish.

So this is why it is so difficult to reach these people. When you try, they often write or blurt out, "Can't you see how evil he is?" Even when he tries to stop war they will cry out, "He lies! He really is evil, can't you see?" Are you confused? Think of how confused they are. This man is leader of the free world, he has massive support, but what of their feelings? You cannot understand their feelings because they can't understand their feelings. They are rooted in their personal psyche, a dark chasm of boiling emotions sometimes raising to the surface like magma in a volcano.  The sight of Trump, or even a person wearing a MAGA hat is all it takes to set them off. And this is why their psychosis can be dangerous. You see, if they spot a car with a Trump sticker they may explode and throw a rock into the window. If the police catch them they will wonder why it is that they are being punished - Trump made them do it after all.

And just to note, the political left that can understand and manipulate this sort of psychosis does not suffer it themselves, but they know how to channel it to get people to do their bidding. We saw this in how the Bosheviks were able to murder millions after they took over Russia, or in the Chinese Cultural Revolution or on a smaller scale the Manson family. Even a mild, soft-spoken young woman can be turned into a raging, cult-manipulated tool of those who know the art of manipulation. You think the people who erupt at any mention of Trump would hesitate to turn on their neighbor if the US devolved into a dystopian police state? They would welcome the opportunity.

So overall, the prognosis is not good.  For one to be cured of a mental affliction they need to recognize what it is and humble themselves to get help.  However, those who are manipulating them do not want that. They need them as the shock troops to crash the system and bring in a great reset, so to speak. So today it is protests and vandalism...tomorrow?
