A young man, influenced by environmentalism, said that maybe his not having children would benefit earth. The woman noted she had studied the topic and that the “overpopulation myth” was more propaganda than reality. She presented her position quite well, but I doubt she converted him. And no wonder since the idea that we should see childbirth as a bad thing is firmly institutionalized in western culture since the early 1970s. No wonder the birthrate has plummeted to record lows.
