Socialism Sounds Great...Unless You Ask These Questions

Image
Socialism is great, right? Everyone should have equal access to goods and services and there should be equality around the board.  Sounds wonderful...except we need to answer one foundational question: Why do people work? You see, there really is not a thing that comes for free, except maybe air.  Someone has to sacrifice their time and efforts to make everything, be it a cookie to the smart phone that a person at a "democratic socialist" rally uses to take a selfie.  Yet what is my point, an anxious student might ask before running off to sociology 101?  Well here it is: Work is defined as "activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result." according to Dictionary.com.  And what gets people to work?  Simple, love, force or money. It really is that simple, and something most people espousing socialism have not considered. Marxism assumes that love is enough to get people to work, and love can relate to the dev...

How the Left Uses Guilt and Shame to Silence and Manipulate

Image
Guilt: “ A bad feeling caused by knowing or thinking that you have done something bad or wrong. ” “ You are an educator and educators are the most guilt-ridden people on earth.   It is time for you to break your life pattern…demand from the cosmos what you deserve…” William Livingston, “ The Destiny of Our Past ”  Well, the former quote is Webster’s definition of guilt.  I believe most people think guilt hurts, but serves a higher purpose; even Freud said that guilt is what kept society together as it caused people to feel bad if they did something contrary to the established norms of society. However, while it may be that it does serve as a “policeman in the head” of the average person; it can be taken to pathological levels and used to control society beyond just maintaining the notion of not hurting others. As the latter quote is meant to illustrate, in most people’s lives guilt stifles us, chains us and prevents us from acquiring the goals we otherwise mi...

Life in the Year 2045 - Full Connection and No Secrets Anymore

Image
The following is a fictional presentation of how life might look like to a person living in 2045 based on trends we are seeing today.  Links to my YouTube channel, where related issues are discussed, are at the end of the article. Who could ask for a better late July day in Portland?  The sun is out, there is a cool breeze and, well, its my 30th birthday in a week.  I was born in this city on August 3rd, 2015 and have lived here all my life. My name is Cynthia Hollingsworth and here is my story. My wife and I live in Lake Oswego, a suburb of Portland. She is a children's skills facilitator, what used to be known as a teacher, and I am a specialist employed in the fertility unit of the local hospital.  I know, it is really unusual to have a married couple both working after the economic equalization laws went into effect ten years ago.  As most occupations have been automated it was necessary to provide a base salary, set to sustain an individual at ...

Mainstream Media 2019: Objectivity No Longer Exists

Image
"If you do not read the newspaper, you are uninformed; if you do read the newspaper, you are misinformed."    Mark Twain During 2018 almost 90% of coverage in the mainstream media was negative towards President Trump.  It is as if people working for the corporate media wake up in the morning with the goal of using their position and power to discredit Trump and to portray those who support him in the most dishonest context as possible. Who ever thought they would see the day that the media would have less objectivity than the propaganda organs portrayed in George Orwell's classic, "1984?" Sadly, media greatly influences perception.  As Malcolm X noted, "The media is the most powerful entity on earth.  They have the power to make the innocent guilty and the make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses." Too many people turn on the TV, or go to a website of a powerful news publication, and they exp...

Political Perceptions, Left and Right.

Image
" It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see ."   Henry David Thoreau Have you ever had a discussion with someone in which it just seemed like that person just couldn't grasp the point you were trying to make?  It could have been on a deep subject, or something quite simple, but at the end of the conversation it seemed as if nothing penetrated the mind of the person you were speaking to?  It was not that you were speaking a different language to him/her but perhaps your perceptions of reality were so different that no points of commonality could be found. Case in point, a hypothetical conversation between a person on the political/cultural right and one on the left.  In today's America it is quite apparent that meaningful conversation has become very difficult.  Of course I am attempting to access the minds of people here, just as I would in developing a character for one of my novels (check link to works below, you might enjoy con...

Trump's Message is Positive Nationalism/Patriotism

Image
" Our secret weapon is nationalism. To have nationhood, which is a sign of maturity, is greater than any weapon in the world. "        Ho Chi Minh While I am not in the habit of quoting those who led wars against US soldiers, I find it interesting that the left condemns Donald Trump for saying he is a nationalist, while they never condemn someone like Ho for praising nationalism.  Maybe Trump intentionally used the term to trigger the left to lash out at nationalism, and expose their underlying contempt for American patriotism and belief in sovereignty. Nationalism is not racism, in fact far from it.  The nationalism that grew out of Europe, particularly in the 19th Century, was an attempt by governments to unify their peoples DESPITE regional, religious and ethnic differences within the national boundaries they controlled.  The nation-state in the more modern sense attempts to draw people's allegiance to symbols, ideals, and c...

The Winning Attitude You Need for a 2020 Victory and Beyond

Image
“ As the night advanced I did not care so much about the audience – I turned making tips into a game of sorts.  In fact, as I gathered more and more money I became more and more flirtatious with the customers…  It began to feel like I was using sexuality as a weapon and I was enjoying this form of manipulation to gain an objective. "  Excerpt from “ Freedom from Conscience – Descent into Darkness. ” The above quote is taken from my thriller, "Freedom from Conscience - Descent into Darkness" (check link below).  Yes, it is fiction but it is true that psychology plays a major role all aspects of life - including the manipulation of voting behavior. And while most people are not aware of the advanced psychological strategies that are employed to affect regular Americans,  the powers-that-be, deep state and media elite are.  And you can bet that the 24/7 attacks on those who question the elite are done to accomplish one thing - to dampen your spirits an...
