Mainstream Media 2019: Objectivity No Longer Exists

Image
"If you do not read the newspaper, you are uninformed; if you do read the newspaper, you are misinformed."    Mark Twain During 2018 almost 90% of coverage in the mainstream media was negative towards President Trump.  It is as if people working for the corporate media wake up in the morning with the goal of using their position and power to discredit Trump and to portray those who support him in the most dishonest context as possible. Who ever thought they would see the day that the media would have less objectivity than the propaganda organs portrayed in George Orwell's classic, "1984?" Sadly, media greatly influences perception.  As Malcolm X noted, "The media is the most powerful entity on earth.  They have the power to make the innocent guilty and the make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses." Too many people turn on the TV, or go to a website of a powerful news publication, and they exp...

Political Perceptions, Left and Right.

Image
" It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see ."   Henry David Thoreau Have you ever had a discussion with someone in which it just seemed like that person just couldn't grasp the point you were trying to make?  It could have been on a deep subject, or something quite simple, but at the end of the conversation it seemed as if nothing penetrated the mind of the person you were speaking to?  It was not that you were speaking a different language to him/her but perhaps your perceptions of reality were so different that no points of commonality could be found. Case in point, a hypothetical conversation between a person on the political/cultural right and one on the left.  In today's America it is quite apparent that meaningful conversation has become very difficult.  Of course I am attempting to access the minds of people here, just as I would in developing a character for one of my novels (check link to works below, you might enjoy con...

Trump's Message is Positive Nationalism/Patriotism

Image
" Our secret weapon is nationalism. To have nationhood, which is a sign of maturity, is greater than any weapon in the world. "        Ho Chi Minh While I am not in the habit of quoting those who led wars against US soldiers, I find it interesting that the left condemns Donald Trump for saying he is a nationalist, while they never condemn someone like Ho for praising nationalism.  Maybe Trump intentionally used the term to trigger the left to lash out at nationalism, and expose their underlying contempt for American patriotism and belief in sovereignty. Nationalism is not racism, in fact far from it.  The nationalism that grew out of Europe, particularly in the 19th Century, was an attempt by governments to unify their peoples DESPITE regional, religious and ethnic differences within the national boundaries they controlled.  The nation-state in the more modern sense attempts to draw people's allegiance to symbols, ideals, and c...

The Winning Attitude You Need for a 2020 Victory and Beyond

Image
“ As the night advanced I did not care so much about the audience – I turned making tips into a game of sorts.  In fact, as I gathered more and more money I became more and more flirtatious with the customers…  It began to feel like I was using sexuality as a weapon and I was enjoying this form of manipulation to gain an objective. "  Excerpt from “ Freedom from Conscience – Descent into Darkness. ” The above quote is taken from my thriller, "Freedom from Conscience - Descent into Darkness" (check link below).  Yes, it is fiction but it is true that psychology plays a major role all aspects of life - including the manipulation of voting behavior. And while most people are not aware of the advanced psychological strategies that are employed to affect regular Americans,  the powers-that-be, deep state and media elite are.  And you can bet that the 24/7 attacks on those who question the elite are done to accomplish one thing - to dampen your spirits an...

The Psychology of a Possible U.S. Civil War

Image
" It is clearly not easy for man to give up the satisfaction of this inclination to aggression.  They do not feel comfortable without it.  The advantage which a comparatively small cultural group offers of allowing this instinct an outlet in the form of hostility against intruders is not to be despised. It is always possible to bind together a considerable number of people in love, so long as there are other people left over to receive the manifestations of their aggressiveness. " Sigmund Freud: Civilization and its Discontents . Ever find yourself angry at a brother, sister, parent or cousin? Sometimes the emotions can get you seeing red but then a while later you have put the differences aside? Yes, we tend to have far more long-term toleration of those who we are related to. And generally, even if we do have differences with a relative we would still tear into a non-relative who attacked them. Studies in anthropology and psychology show that genetics bond peop...

Do They Hate Trump More Than They Love Peace?

Image
" Now this conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence—economic, political, even spiritual—is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet, we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources, and livelihood are all involved. So is the very structure of our society.  In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. " Former US President Dwight Eisenhower "We are a warlike people, easily distracted from our assignment of preparing for the coming of the Lord. When enemies rise up, we commit vast resources to the fabrication of gods of stone and steel—ships, planes, missiles, fortifications—and depend on them for protection and deliverance. When t...

Sex Trafficking/Modern Slavery: Donald Trump's Quest to Stop Both (updated version)

Image
In light of the issue of sex trafficking getting a lot of attention (thank goodness) with the movie "Sound of Freedom" we should never forget that Donald Trump did everything he could to combat this evil.   Original article follows:  “ Slavery is founded on the selfishness of man’s nature; opposition to it on his love of justice .” Abraham Lincoln   Recently, President Donald Trump stated, in regards to human trafficking: " It's a very, very terrible problem, it's not talked about enough. People don't know enough about it and we're going to talk about it and we're going to bring it out into the open and hopefully we're going to do a great deal to help prevent some of the horrific, really horrific crimes that are taking place. "  (Reuters, Feb. 23, 2017)                                  ...
