Sex Trafficking/Modern Slavery: Donald Trump's Quest to Stop Both (updated version)

Image
In light of the issue of sex trafficking getting a lot of attention (thank goodness) with the movie "Sound of Freedom" we should never forget that Donald Trump did everything he could to combat this evil.   Original article follows:  “ Slavery is founded on the selfishness of man’s nature; opposition to it on his love of justice .” Abraham Lincoln   Recently, President Donald Trump stated, in regards to human trafficking: " It's a very, very terrible problem, it's not talked about enough. People don't know enough about it and we're going to talk about it and we're going to bring it out into the open and hopefully we're going to do a great deal to help prevent some of the horrific, really horrific crimes that are taking place. "  (Reuters, Feb. 23, 2017)                                  ...

The Propganda Machine You Invited Into Your Home

Image
" There's no denying television is one of the most powerful propaganda media we've ever invented ." Jim Fowler: zoologist and TV host ("Wild Kingdom") Imagine you come home one day and you discover a couple of "missionaries" in your living room teaching your children.  No, they are not, for instance, Mormons sharing a religious message but instead represent a liberal organization that wants your children to question their parent's faith, values, morality and even tells them their very heritage is corrupt and evil. What would your reaction be? Get them refreshments, ignore or toss them out? This is not really all that hypothetical a situation because you likely invite them in every day and place them in the center of the living room. That's right, the reference is to television. Look over a typical neighborhood anywhere in the western world. What is the common feature in almost every home? That's right, a television. And the ...

Why the 2nd Amendment is as Vital Now As Ever Before.

Image
“ The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. ” Thomas Jefferson Ever have a discussion with someone who supports gun control? Bet you have heard such phrases as, "Why do people need guns anymore? We have the police." or "The 2nd Amendment is out-dated and if we eliminate it our crime rates will decrease."  On the face of it sometimes these seem like valid points; but only if we examine the issue very superficially.  Unfortunately, soundbite-style statements cannot provide good analysis of the issue. As an author I have dealt with government tyranny and manipulation in my books, as well as  the agenda of technocratic rule.  I also covered suc...

Why Politicians And Media Lie, And Why So Many Still Trust Them.

Image
" As soon as we abandon our own reason, and are content to rely upon authority, there is no end to our troubles. " Bertrand Russell Even some of the more left-leaning people I know are exhausted with the whole conspiracy theory of "Russian influence" in our elections being packaged and repackaged by the mainstream media. Of course the media is not solely the blame; there are more than a few self-serving politicians from both parties more than willing to play with innuendo (lies) to further their own agendas.  Yet while many peope can see through this there are many others, especially those who are politically less-informed, who will accept these allegations as true. So why is that? Why do people trust politicians and media pundits at face value rather than employ analysis and skepticism? Sadly,  while many of the elite are inclined to twist the truth, or lie outright, to gain an objective a large percentage of the public are just as inclined to put trust in th...

Standing for Truth in an Age of Manipulation.

“Two percent of the people think; three percent of the people think they think; and ninety-five percent of the people would rather die than think.”  George Bernard Shaw There is a culture war and sadly the conservative or "right wing" has lost lost a lot of ground in our culture.  Now hey, don’t give up or be discouraged; the right is down, but not out. However, this is a war for the mind, body and spirit of the American people and in order to re-gain what has been lost we need to counteract the gains the left and the powers-that-be have made since in recent years. And yes, there are ways to do it. So you want to win? Do you? Well, let's get started. Edward Bernays, the father of modern advertising, who applied his Uncle Sigmund Freud’s discoveries on how the sub-conscious mind works, recognized that most people merely absorb the norms and values of their culture without critical analysis, without questioning, and without challenge. Of course, neither...

What Defines Conspiracy? Oh, And Do They Exist?

Image
Conspiracy:  “The activity of secretly planning with other people to do something bad or illegal.” Cambridge Dictionary Since the entrance of the internet onto the center stage of human consciousness the term “conspiracy” has mushroomed. What used to be the domain of small groups (left and right wing), and what used to be topics one might find in a newsletter left on a campus table, or leaflet in front of a post office, are now topics that captivate the minds of…well, just about everyone. Just ask a 14 year-old what they think of “the Illuminati.” They will probably at least know about the eye of providence or even something about various fraternal societies.  Many people have views that deviate from the standard 9-11 narrative. And who could forget the “vast right wing conspiracy” term created by Hillary in the 1990s, and now replaced with allegations of sneaky Russians hiding under our beds and downloading pro-Trump memes on our computers when we aren’t looking? S...
